Poly wire or tape is made up of plastic threaded with conductive filaments. POly wire looks like heavy cord or plastic twine, while poly tape looks just like a wide piece of plastic tape. Wire lasts longer and is less expensive than tape, but tape is more visible to animals.
Similar to other types of electric fencing, poly tape or poly wire uses an energizer and ground rods. It can be used with step-in posts and is a good solution for larger animals like cattle or horses for temporary paddocks (compared to high-tensile wire, which is a permanent solution).
