Jars of honey.

It's National Honey Month! If you have bees, you are probably harvesting some honey right now. If not, it's a great time to read up on keeping bees in preparation for starting up a hive come spring. That's what we're doing this fall! (As well as getting tested for venom allergies since I have had allergic reactions to yellowjackets in the past. Never a bad idea to discuss this with your physician before plunging into the world of beekeeping.)

Honey is wonderful stuff - just not for babies under a year old due to potential botulism toxins. Antimicrobial, rich in antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins, honey has been revered for centuries as a health-promoting food. Yum!
